It has been a busy month since Daddy left for work. Colton is making strides in so many areas, it's sad that Daddy isn't here to see it in person! He does get to see Colton via webcam, and it's pretty funny to watch Colton interact with him through the computer. He grins and laughs at Bryan when he sees him on the screen. He hasn't said "Dada" to him yet, but he says it a lot at other times.
Since Daddy left, I started a Mom's Group. We are meeting on Thursday mornings, at the park or at our house, depending on the weather. We've had anywhere from 5-8 mommies and babies come to our group. It's been fun interacting and seeing the kiddos interact with each other too. And it's good to have something to look forward to in the week.
We celebrated a few milestones with Colton and in our family... Colton FINALLY got his first 2 teeth! They are still coming in-- but officially broke the surface on May 19 and 20. He was pretty grouchy (understandably) and didn't sleep as well. He also had a runny nose, which then turned into a cough. He still has a cough, a runny nose and has run a fever off and in the past week. He went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago, and they ruled out ear infection or anything else at that point. We think he may have some allergies, like Momma unfortunately. He's been fussy off and on, and Momma is getting a workout picking him up and carrying him around when he's inconsolable. :0( But, we now have 2 teeth to show for the crankiness!
Another milestone came last week, when Colton finally figured out how to crawl! He had been rocking, bouncing, and sliding around for weeks, but on May 24, he actually did the "real deal" crawl with all four appendages working together. :0 ) He's still kind of slow, and he actually would prefer to pull up and stand than to crawl. But he's getting it! So there's another milestone-- he has pulled to standing, and cruises along the the furniture. He has always had strong legs and liked to stand in your lap-- so I'm not surprised that he wants to be up and working those legs. I imagine it will only be a matter of weeks until he's standing on his own, then walking. I am still baby proofing as we go... The outlets are covered, not to worry, and the baby gates are up. Just realizing what all this kiddo can reach!! :0)

Another first was my first Mother's Day (officially). We celebrated with my parents coming over for lunch, then Colton and I went to Aunt Jane's for a few hours to visit with all the fam. Then for dinner, my sisters and their families, went to my parents' house for dinner. It was a great day, even though Daddy wasn't here.
Best Mother's Day Smile!!

We also celebrated big brother Weston's 9th birthday. He turned 9 on May 27, but we had his party the weekend prior. He had a blast at the OC-- even Colton got to swim! We got to visit with family and friends, and Weston got a cool new bike with 18 speeds!
Birthday party pic--my sweet kiddos
We had company come to visit-- our friends Lori and Bobby came down from Minnesota and stayed with us over Memorial Day weekend. We spent a day at Silver Dollar City (and got rained out!), and of course, had to eat at Mexican Villa (they don't have those in MN!). It was nice to share the weekend with them. The kiddos got to come over Sunday night, for Memorial Day on Monday. We went to SDC again (we got season passes this year) with my sisters and their families and my folks. It was also Uncle Rob's birthday, so we celebrated there as well.In other news, Colton is eating like a champ! He has tried a few new things-- cottage cheese (yum), bites of Momma's yogurt (yum), applesauce (yum), green beans (gag- literally), zucchini (not sure), chicken (yum)... He seems to be a little less interested in nursing, so I'm wondering if he will wean himself sometime soon. Not quite sure how we're going to go about that, as he does NOT take a bottle and has just enjoyed chewing on his sippy cups, as opposed to drinking out of them! Oh well, we'll cross that bridge eventually...
I'm guessing that he is about 17-17.5 pounds. When we went to the doc a few weeks ago, he weighed 17 lb 2 oz. He seems to be "thinning out" just a little. He's not quite as thick in the arms and legs-- Daddy noticed that, too. His chubby cheeks are still there, but his weight gain is slowing down. I suppose that is because he's much more active!
Here are a couple other cute pics... And with these, we'll say goodnight!! I'll try not to let so much time pass before my next update. Love to all.
